Affiliate disclosure
Some manufacturer links on the brand pages earn Voltage Vet a commission. Here is exactly which ones, what they pay, and what they do not influence.
Last reviewed
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the manufacturer may pay me a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the price you would have paid going there directly.
Where they are
Only on the brand pages, and only on the buy button. Every one of them is marked as an affiliate link on the page it appears on, and is tagged rel="sponsored" in the page source so search engines can see it too.
Not every brand has one. Where a brand page has no buy button, there is no commission involved anywhere on that page.
What it does not change
It does not change what a repair costs. Labor is priced from the published sheet, and no line on it moves because of a manufacturer relationship.
It does not decide which brands I service. I work on more than sixty brands. The four with their own pages are the ones that come through the shop most often, which is a fact about my bench, not about who pays a commission.
It does not change my advice. If a machine is not worth repairing I will tell you, and if the scooter you are about to buy is a bad idea I will tell you that too — including when I would earn something from the sale. That is worth more to me than any commission.
Why they exist at all
People ask me what to buy, constantly. Answering that question honestly takes time, and an affiliate link is a way for that answer to pay for a small part of itself without anybody being charged for advice.
If that arrangement bothers you, ignore the buttons entirely and go to the manufacturer directly. It makes no difference to how I treat your repair.
Questions
If you want to know whether a specific link earns me anything, email the shop and ask. I will tell you.
